South-Eastern Administrative Area
The federal city of Moscow, Russia is divided into twelve administrative areas (okrugs), which are in turn subdivided into districts (raions). The city does not have a downtown area; the urban core is scattered across the city.
While administrative areas are a subdivision of state administration, districts have the status of municipal formations, i.e. local self-government entities.
The total population of South-Eastern Administrative Area is 1 116 924 inhabitants.
Prefecture of the South-Eastern Administrative Area is the territorial executive authority of the city and is subordinated to the Government of Moscow. Prefecture is carrying out control, coordinating, executive and administrative activity in the territory of South-Eastern administrative area
